"What is it?"

The pale little wolf froze, all four paws planted on the ground and her blue eyes practically crossed, glaring at the tip of her own nose. A snowflake or three had gathered there, white upon pink, cold upon warm, and Mosrael was less than amused by the interruption. Ranna could hardly disguise her amused smile as she looked back at her daughter and her wrinkled little brows.

"It's snow, Rae," Ranna replied softly.

Mosrael still did not move, though her eyes slowly looked toward her mother for guidance, still confused. Ranna reached down and brushed the snow away with her nose, and swiftly licked the little pup's forehead. "Don't worry. It can't hurt you. Nothing can when I am with you."
